Sen. John McCain is now under political fire after announcing that there is “substantial evidence” that illegal immigrants are partly to blame for the massive wildfires consuming eastern Arizona. While authorities are certain that humans started the three major fires in the state, investigators have not released any additional information. Illegal immigrant rights advocates are blaming McCain for using illegal immigrants as scapegoats. Meanwhile, McCain is “puzzled” by the barrage of criticism he has faced since making the comments over the weekend.
